Alright, kids! I said that I wanted to release a PDF sewing pattern in 2014 and I'd like to make good on that. Here goes nothing!
Right now, I'm in the planning stages of it all. The patterns are currently made for all of theses styles from 2013 but I need your help in choosing which one I should release!
You can either leave your answer in the comments or click on the poll on the right sidebar - voting ends on January 9th. ------------------------------------------------------>>>
Please note that all these patterns include POCKETS. Petra and Sunrise have inside side-seam pockets and the Scallop has designed slash pockets.
The pattern will likely see a full release by late 2014, perhaps Autumn 2014. More details closer as I move along on this.
I'll need about 10 pattern testers about 2 for each size. I'm planning on US sizes varying between 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8.
More information and photos on each design here:
Petra Dress
Sunrise Panel Dress
Scallop Pocket Dress
So... share this around! If anyone has some advice about making a PDF pattern, tips and tricks about are always appreciated. I have talked to a few people about their own PDF patterns and it seems pretty straightforward.
Thanks, and Happy New Year!

They are all lush but my favourite is the scallop pocket dress!
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with pattern number three, the scallop one, so that has my vote (I used your side bar voting thing :D) However number two, the sunrise panel dress, seems a very wearable option also. I look forward to seeing what other reader choose!
ReplyDeleteIf you are looking for a pattern tester I am certainly up for the challenge - especially if it turns out to be number 3 ;)
As for making a PDF pattern, we are in the same boat here. I have been making some hand drawn pdf patterns lately which are fairly easy to do, and have another coming out this month (fingers crossed) but I would give anything to learn how to digitise them and make them really professional looking. I have no idea so if you get ay useful tips you will have to share them :D
Good luck

I love the first dress! The shape is very normal, but the colorblocking makes it fun and unique. I would make that dress in a bunch of different colors!

im torn between 1 and 3! but i voted for 3!. I've never pattern tested before. If your willing to have someone from the other side of the world try it out, let me know!
ReplyDeleteCat, I'll put you on the list! You'll be updated when the pattern is ready to send out for testing. :)
DeleteI love all three! But the Petra Dress is my favourite, I voted using the poll. I'd love to be a pattern tester if you have capacity (I'd be approx a US size 6 (32", 26", 37").
ReplyDeleteI'm so surprised at the overwhelming response to the Petra Dress! There will definitely be a size in more or less those measurements. I'm still drawing up my sizing table currently. I'll put you on my list of people to be contacted. I'll also put out a formal call for testers once the pattern is finished. Thanks so much!
DeleteI'm torn between 1 and 2, but I think number 1 just makes it. And so glad pockets will be included!
ReplyDeleteScallop, Petra, Sunrise, in that order. I'd also love to pattern test when the time comes!

Ooh the Petra! And I'd certainly be interested in pattern testing if needed!
