Hi all --
SO EXCITED that I have completed my 1st PDF sewing pattern that is heading out to testers soon!
Many of you long-time followers know that this has been a dream of mine for some-odd 6 years or so at this point, and the moment is finally here!
It's honestly a blessing to have more time to work on patterns and design projects at this moment in time. I know it's a very difficult time for many, but I am extremely grateful to be able to pursue design interests and create some more fun things to sew for you all in the mean time!
This skirt is slated to be my 1st sewing pattern release -- the Sport Skirt!
It is a ponte knit skirt with slash side pockets that are hidden within the contrast of the skirt.
Originally, this skirt came about because I had a plain orange skirt from Brooklyn Industries that I loved (and still have!) but I also loved the pocket design I did on what I called my Mix n Match Dress from 2012.
The pockets on the 2012 version were a little long and awkward, so the 2016 version adjusted the pockets to match proportionately.
I basically combined the Brooklyn Industries skirt that I loved and my unique contrast pocket pattern and TA DA!!
The Sport Skirt test garment was sewn in 2016. Now, I have no idea why I named it "sport skirt" -- I just did!
I feel like this skirt stood the test of time for me (ok, 5 years) so it seemed fitting to release it as a PDF pattern.

It's been crazy seeing this thing come to life. I had been most intimidated by grading and creating pattern instructions for my PDF sewing patterns, but at this point it's now or never, right?
Awesomely enough, I felt like both grading and instruction-writing and creating of diagrams seemed to go off without a hitch.
I know there will be upcoming tweaks before final release, but that's all part of the process!
In the mean time, I am going to have to move this blog over to WordPress VERY soon to accommodate the plugin for sales of the PDF patterns. (I do plan on releasing more and have been working on more!)
If anyone is interested in being a pattern tester, please email nicole@manicpop.com. Please send along a brief introduction and let me know what size you plan on cutting. Also your Instagram handle if you are on there!
I am planning on all pattern test files to be sent out by April 20th, 2020. I would ideally like to give a month for testers so by May 20th, I should probably be seeing your creations!
